Enamel is a solvent based fast drying paint developed for use on plastic model kits. But can be used on most plastics, wood, glass, ceramics, metal, cardboard, sealed plaster and many more surfaces. Brush straight from the tin, or airbrush with a suitable thinner. The usual thinning ratio is 2 parts paint to 1 part thinner. Two thin coats are preferable to one thick. Re-coatable after 6 hours but touch dry; gloss 1-2 hours, matt and satin 20-40 mins. Allow up to 24 hours to hard dry, metallics are hard dry in approx 10 days.
Acrylic is a water based, fast dry paint designed for use on plastic model kits. But can be used on most plastics, wood, glass, ceramics, metal, cardboard, sealed plaster and many more surfaces. Brush straight from the tin or airbrush using a suitable thinner such as water. The usual thinning ratio is 2 parts paint to 1 part thinner. Two thin coats are preferable to one thick. Hard dry in 1-2 hours, but allow longer for gloss and metallics.
Metallic finishes are designed to be polished once fully dry (approximately 10 days).
